Soulja Boy Releases the SouljaGame Console and handheld System

Soulja Boy is rolling on them haters today after releasing his own home and handheld game console. That’s right, it’s the SouljaGame, y’all.

Professional rapper DeAndre Cortez Way, commonly known by his alias Soulja Boy, recently added two new products to his online merchandise store, The SouljaGame Handheld and the SouljaGame Console. The two game systems boast over 3,000 games, ranging from NES to NeoGeo. The handheld version can even connect to your TV for big-screen play. Both items are listed for $199.99, with discount prices set for its launch.

The catch? They’re just cheap, unlicensed emulators. They’re both developed by Anbernic, a Chinese retailer that ships discount products internationally. The SouljaGame happens to look exactly like the Retro Mini Video Game Console and 2018 Portable Video Handheld Game Console products Anbernic already sells. The SouljaGame also costs about twice as much, mind you.

Some surface level research into the products makes this clear. The console version brags about “Game Speed FPS 1:1 output (perfect and fluent)” while the handheld one claims to support Switch and 3DS, but not a touchscreen.

Despite the clear cost-cutting practices, the good Boy himself appears to be proud of the accomplishment, stating that his first customer “brought tears to my eyes. Tears of joy!”

If the SouljaGame doesn’t do it for you, maybe the SouljaWatch will, or the SouljaPods. Personally, I’m most interested in the SouljaPhone. He has a lovely collection of products that look better than they are while also adding “Soulja” to the front of the name.

Things like this remind me how much I love my job.
