Monday 10-9-17

Whoops, I forgot Friday again. My bad, I’ll post extra news to make up for that. Here are what went down since then.

  • Telltale Games uses image of assassinated Russian ambassador
  • StarWars Battlefront II had an open beta over the weekend
  • ARMS for Nintendo Switch has an update coming
  • Blizzard opens their new eSport Arena
  • Elite Dangerous lays out the plans for 2018
  • Ninja Theory releases their accolades trailer for Hellblade

Telltale Games Russian Ambassador
In the recently released chapter for the Telltale Games Batman game, there is a scene where Bruce Wayne is going over some local crimes. One of the crimes he sees is a bank robbery. The on-screen image of the crime has a dead man in a suit lying on the floor. It was eventually found out by Twitter user BroTeamPill that the man was, in fact, a cut and pasted image of the recently assassinated Russian ambassador who was shot at an art museum. Telltale have since removed the man from the image in a game update and claim to be handling the issue internally.
StarWars Battlefront II Beta
for last weekend only everyone could download and play a test beta for the upcoming Starwars Battlefront II game. I got a chance to play myself, and will actually be writing about it in greater depth here in a few days, Stay tuned. otherwise, its now over and you will have to wait till this November to pick up the fully released game for yourself.
ARMS update 3.2
Nintendo released a trailer showing off some changes that will occur for the popular Switch title, ARMS. The trailer shows a new multiplayer game mode, a new badge feature, a new stage called Sparring Ring, as well as some kind of metal glowing version of the character Springman. Watch the trailer for yourself here.

Blizzard’s eSports Arena
Blizzard Entertainment has finished and opened up the eSport facility they’ve been building in LA, premiering it with the first round of the Overwatch Contenders program. This place looks amazing. A very official and professional setting. You can check out some shots of the location at the news post I made HERE.
Elite Dangerous 2018 Roadmap
The developers for the popular space exploration RPG, Elite Dangerous, have outlined their plans for the game in Q1 and Q4 of next year at their annual Expo. The list of changes is a bit too big to list out on here, so if you’d like to see more about what to expect check it out at the post I made HERE.
Hellblade Accolades Trailer
Ninja Theory released a video called the Accolades Trailer, it contains player made screenshots and player sent messages stitched together over heart touching music. Its intended to be an acknowledgment that the company has heard what everyone is saying, and that those with mental illnesses are not alone. It’s very strong in its intention, even including a link to a mini-site for getting help if you need it. You can watch the trailer for yourself here.

What a bundle of news, it puts a smile on my face.
Come back tomorrow for the latest and greatest in gaming news, and as always, have a great night.
